Rights to, and Legal Use of, Images and Documents
Before proceeding to the Digital Archives, you must read and agree to the following copyright notice. Click on the "I Agree" button to continue.
Images and documents in the Centralia College Digital Archives Collection fall into a variety of copyright categories. Many are considered public information, but many are privately owned and therefore fall under the protection of copyright laws. Single copies of any image in the arhive may be made for private study, scholarship, or research purposes, with proper attribution. Users of the collection agree to respect copyright restrictions. Specifically:
- Those identified as "public information" may be used freely. Proper attribution is requested.
- Those labeled with "All rights reserved Centralia College" may be used for private study, scholarship, or research purposes with proper attribution to the CC Digital Archives. To request to use digital archival materials for any other purpose, please contact the Dean of Library Services and E-Learning at (360) 736-9391 ext. 241.
- To request permission to use or reproduce items within the archive that originate from sources outside The College (for instance, items labeled "copyright The Chronicle") including letters, please contact the copyright holder. The College has received special permission from the copyright holders to include these images in the Collection.
Users of the collection also agree to indemnify and hold harmless Centralia College, its officers, employees and agents from and against all suits, claims, actions and expenses arising out of the use of images in the Centralia College Digital Archives Collection.
The library will promptly acknowledge receipt of notification of claimed infringement, and remove or disable access to, that is, "take-down," the contested material from the network, pending resolution of the claim.
